The Ronald Reagan Centennial – An Academic Symposium

A historic event will take place on campus February 1 and 2, and conclude with a special plenary moderated by Tom Brokaw of NBC News at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library on February 2.

This event provides a unique opportunity for scholars, students, authors, pundits and former White House staff to examine the legacy of former U.S. President and California Governor Ronald Reagan, who would turn 100 years old  on February 6, 2011.   Prominent national scholars and public intellectuals with expertise on the presidency, communication, and leadership will participate on the panels, and academic papers on each panel topic are underway.  Note also that renowned historian Kevin Starr will give a keynote address on Ronald Reagan's impact on California.
