Next week, the USC Political Student Assembly, USC Latina/o Student Assembly, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity, Inc. and the USC College Republicans will be hosting an event titled "The Great Debate: Which Side are You On?"
This event has been put together to offer a fair debate on the topic of comprehensive immigration reform and help those in attendance structure their minds rationally on the topic.
Through a balanced panel including the current editor of La Opinion, a macroeconomist, former speechwriter of California Governor Pete Wilson and current USC students, we hope to present a sophisticated debate on this divisive topic summed up correctly. The scope of the debate will go beyond the basics and focus on the political, legal, economic, ethical and policy issues surrounding the controversial topic.
Moderator: Dan Schnur (Director of the Jesse M. Unruh Institute of Politics)
Speakers:
- Pilar Marrero (Editor of La Opinion newspaper)
- Professor Jonathan Wilcox (USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism)
- Professor Juan Eberhard ( USC Marshall School of Business)
- Andrenna Hidalgo (Current USC student)
FREE In-N-Out will be served
