Senator Kevin de Leon of Los Angeles is currently seeking six interns to participate in a new internship program starting March 30th and concluding on May 15th. California State Senate Interns will be exposed to the California State policymaking process and participate in a unique mentor program coordinated by staff members. Selected California State Senate Interns will assist senior field representatives, support district office administration efforts and respond to constituent inquires. The California State Senate Internship Program is unpaid and requires a minimum commitment of 8-12 hours per week.
All undergraduate students are eligible to apply. However, given the competitive nature of the California State Senate Internship program applicants are expected to have at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA and hold upper division status. Students of color are highly encouraged to apply. The California State Senate Internship program can offer academic credit upon an agreement with a partnering university or academic department.
