Wednesday, November 17, 10:30am-12:30pm – VKC Courtyard
Several organizations will host a USC development fair in the VKC Courtyard. Organizations include Amnesty International, KIVA, SARSA, and many more, who will share their experiences abroad and in these organizations, and open opportunities for students to get involved.
During that time, from 11:00-11:45, directors and deputee heads from the OECD offices in Paris, France, and Washington, DC will discuss and answer questions about working abroad, working in development, and how to apply for internships and full-time positions at the Paris and DC offices. Please take this incredible opportunity to get face time with leaders of a worldwide organization.
Finally, from noon to 1:30, there will be a speaking event concerning the Coordination of Development from the micro-finance, national, and international forums. It will take place in the Tyler Environmental Prize Pavillion (adjacent to VKC courtyard). Speakers include:
- Yesim Indice, USC PhD candidate, on microfinance and its role in international development
- Mark Bernstein, USC Professor of Political Science and head of USC Energy Institute, on the importance of national infrastructure initiatives in water and electrification
- Lorena Sanchez, 2-time USC Graduate and current member of the OECD diplomacy directorate in Paris, on the role that international organizations have in coordinating development projects.
Lunch will be served during the speaking event. Please take advantage of these wonderful visitors - we look forward to seeing you there!
Any questions? Feel free to contact OECD Student Ambassador Lauren Goodwin (lgoodwin@usc.edu).
