Attention, Trojan Scholars!
The USC Army ROTC program is currently seeking qualified candidates for the following scholarships:
- Freshmen: 3.5-year full-tuition scholarships to be awarded Spring 2011.
- Sophomores and Juniors: 2.5-year full-tuition scholarships to be awarded spring 2011.
- Incoming Graduate Students: 2-year full-tuition scholarships to be awarded fall 2011, including 2-year full-tuition scholarships for USC law students entering their second year of law school by fall 2011.
All awardees will also receive a $1,200 book allowance and a monthly stipend ranging from $300-500. Most awardees may also receive a $4,000 annual grant from USC.
Applicants selected for these scholarships must agree to participate in the USC Army ROTC for the remainder of their college tenure and will be commissioned as Army officers upon graduation. Graduates of the program can elect to serve full-time in active Army duty, or part-time in the Army Reserve or California Army National Guard.
To qualify for these scholarships, applicants must:
- Have strong scholastic, athletic and leadership credentials.
- Be U.S. citizens.
- Be under 31 years of age by December 31 of the year in which you graduate and receive your commission.
- Meet Army height and weight requirements and pass the Army Physical Fitness Test by the time of scholarship contracting.
- Pass an Officer Commissioning Medical Examination. Note: Asthma diagnosed after age 12, as well as other serious medical conditions, are common medical disqualifiers.
- Maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA.
- Be a full-time student.
- Be single or married with no more than three (3) dependents.
- Be of good moral character with no excessive law violations.
- Have been honorably discharged from any prior military service.
The application process typically takes a few months to complete, so qualified and serious applicants should express their interest by visiting the USC Army ROTC program at the Physical Education Building, Room 110.
